The hauntingly beautiful statue that adorns the tomb of Francis Haserot is titled, The Angel of Death Victorious. The angel holds an inverted torch, symbolic of a life extinguished. The photo was taken in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio (January 2019).

Thank you. Maybe one day I’ll take a class that teaches photo composition.

Awesome! 🙂 Interesting how humans have taken avian physiological structures and have incorporated them as part of some of their own.

I’ve always suspected that people have an innate desire to fly. Maybe that’s why we see the emergence of winged angel imagery in Abrahamic religious art about 1600 years ago. This particular statue has always had a very visceral effect on me. I wish I had the technical skill to really capture it in a high quality photo. I’m gonna try to find a class that can give me a good foundation for photography basics. Thanks for your comments and continued support. All the best.
